Keep Rockland Beautiful’s Great American Clean Up April 10, 14, 15

Hello Everyone,

It’s that time of year again for Keep Rockland Beautiful’s Great American Clean Up. Last year members of the Ramapo Central School District got together to form “Just for Jami” Cleaning in the memory of Jami Erlich. Over the course of the cleanup week we had over 22 volunteers and cleaned seven different sites throughout Rockland County. We even had a “Team Day,” where members of varsity sports cleaned playing areas throughout Suffern. Due to last year’s success we would like to do this again because it was a great way to become involved in the community and remember our beloved colleague Jami who worked so hard to keep our world beautiful.

This year’s Great American Cleanup is from April 9th to April 24th. Please be advised that should you choose to join our team, you do NOT have to attend all cleanups and that you can come and go as you please. I will provide the garbage bags although you can feel free to bring your own. The team simply meets at that day’s destination and cleans.

Scheduled clean ups for this year are as follows:

  • Sunday April 10th: Route 9W side of Rockland Lake
  • Thursday April 14th: Lafayette Avenue section just past the Suffern Free Library
  • Friday April 15th: Route 59, the park across the street from the Dunkin Donuts

Available dates for other clean ups are the 19, 20, 21 so please let us know if there is somewhere you would like to add to our schedule. Send at email to Gabby Soma (gsoma@ramapocentral) if you are interested in joining “Just for Jami,” and I will send you updated emails with further information as the cleanup approaches.

Thanks!

Gaby Somma
